 | How do I set up a new VPN connection? |  | | | 1. Open Network Connections on your PC 2. Click “create a new connection” 3. Click “connect to the network at my workplace” 4. Click “virtual private network connection” 5. Type a name for your new connection 6. Choose an appropriate connection method for your Internet connection 7. Type vpn.virtualinternetcafe.com in the VPN server selection box 8. Choose the appropriate availability, click next, choose if to make a desktop icon and click finish 9. Double click your newly created network connection, type in your Virtual Internet Cafe username and password, click connect.

 | Is Virtual Internet Cafe a Proxy service? |  | | | No, Virtual Internet Cafe is NOT a Proxy service. With a proxy service you would still be using your own PC for all communication. With our services you remote control a Cafe PC instead of using your own PC. | |  | |  |
 | I can’t login to the Cafe PC! |  | | | Make sure that VIRTUALINTERNET is selected in the “log on to” field. Also, make sure that you type in the correct username and password. Tip: Type your password in the username field to verify that it is entered correctly. | |  | |  |
 | Can I view video files on the Cafe PC’s? |  | | | Yes, it is possible to view various video formats, however, Remote Desktop is not well suited for motion picture or heavy graphics. Poor response and severe lagging may occur. | |  | |  |
 | Files disappear when I save to my home folder (H:\) |  | | | If a file disappear when you try to save it to your home folder (H-drive) it is because the file contains a virus or is otherwise unwanted by the system. This is for your own protection since it’s possible for you to download your saved files from our website under the My Files tab. | |  | |  |
 | Newly rebooted PC won’t connect |  | | | When a Cafe PC is rebooting (yellow light), it may take up to one minute before you can connect to it although the light has already turned to green. Try another Cafe PC or wait a minute before trying to connect again. | |  | |  |
 | Low Performance |  | | | Virtual Internet Cafe PC’s are hosted on very powerful hardware. If your response is slow when remote controlling our Cafe PC’s it is most likely caused by poor network response time. Remote controlling our Cafe PC’s needs very little bandwidth, however the response time needs to be good. | |  | |  |
 | Inactive user accounts will be deleted |  | | | Your user account will be deleted automatically if it’s inactive for more than 3 months. Make sure to use a Cafe PC within 3 months to prevent this from happening. Please note that just by visiting or logging on to our website does not qualify as an activity. | |  | |  |
 | Idle Timeout after 60 minutes |  | | | All Cafe PC’s have a local idle timeout program installed. This software will Logoff the Cafe PC if it’s inactive for more than 60 minutes. | |  | |  |
 | Disconnect vs. Logout |  | | | If you click disconnect or close the remote desktop window, you are still occupying a PC and your time credit will continue to count down. You are however able to reconnect and continue your session. To Logout from your cafe PC, simply click any of the Logout icons on the cafe PC desktop or start menu, or click the corresponding Cafe PC Logout-link on The PC’s webpage.
